KUM Sediment Trap

The sediment trap is used to study the vertical distribution of sinking particles in water. It can be deployed in both salt and fresh water. It is descended and anchored at a specific depth, where sinking sediment particles are picked up through a funnel and finally collected into sample bottles. The materials thus collected can be used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of their biological, chemical and mineral compositions.

Product Details

The hexagonal open framework is employed as the outer cover to reduce interfering current resistance. A hexagonal lattice-grid baffle made of special sealed paper is used to cover the funnel. This serves as current stabilizer and also reduces wash out.

Every sediment trap is equipped with the lattice grid baffle as funnel cover and the single-side suspension.
