The main function

System composition

1）The system adopts single point taut mooring system, which is suitable for long-term observation in 1500~6000m water depth；

2）Two TRDI Long Ranger 75khz ADCP can be installed on the main float; One unit measures the stratified vertical current profile from the main float up to the surface；the other mearsures the stratified vertical current profile about 500m down from the main floating ball.

3）Multiple SBE37 CTDS can be configured on the mooring line to measure sea water temperature, salinity and pressure of the concerned water layer.

Multiple SBE56 T devices are equipped on the mooring line to intensively measure sea water temperature of the concerned water layer.

Multiple TRDI DVS are installed on the mooring line to measure single-point current parameters (e.g. turbulence parameters) of the concerned water layer.

4）All the measuring instruments are powered by underwater battery, and the long-term and continuous measurement is carried out in self-contained way.

5）The main floating ball is equipped with an Evo Logics S2C acoustic communicator underwater vehicle, which is integrated with two ADCP’s to communicate acoustically with the Evo Logics S2C topside vehicle placed on the scientific survey ship, transmitting data from two 75KHz ADCP’s to the scientific survey ship。

The deep-sea submersible mooring system consists of measuring instruments, anchor system and acoustic communication system.

1）The measuring instruments consist of 2 TRDI Long Ranger 75KHz ADCP, multiple SBE37 CTD, multiple TRDI DVS and multiple SBE56T sensors。

2）The mooring system consists of 1 Flotec 49″ main float, radio beacon and receiver, flash beacon, multiple Flotec18″ solid floats, multiple NMS-FS-6700 17″ glass floats, and 3 EdgeTech ORE 8242XS acoustic release device, 1 set of parallel mechanism of acoustic release devices, Cortland 10mm Kevlar cable with protective jacket, 2 Miller 3TC-Link rotating rings, stainless steel shackle, stainless steel anchor chain, gravity anchor, etc.

3）The acoustic communication system consists of a pair of Evo Logics S2C acoustic communication machines and a set of underwater battery tank.
