Acoustic Detection Solutions for Drainage Outfalls

Most of the drainage outfalls are distributed in the river channel and bank embankment. The nearby water quality is turbid and the terrain is complex, and it is difficult to use conventional means to drain it, especially the sewage pipes that are drained secretly, which are more hidden and difficult to investigate. By using the latest acoustic detection technology, the real-time underwater situation can be effectively monitored. With water quality sensors, hydrophores, water cameras, Beidou positioning system, 5G network, and unmanned ship technology, we can realize the full functions of real-time investigation, evidence collection, and evidence solidification in the central command hall. In this way, efficient office work, efficient disposal, and efficient law enforcement can be realized, and a beautiful environment of green mountains and rivers is also available to the public.

The underwater acoustic imaging sonar installed on the ship’s side is used to observe the underwater situation of the river embankment in real time, and continuous sonar images are recorded on the industrial computer, and the current time and satellite positioning coordinates are recorded to facilitate subsequent inspections. At the same time, according to the requirements of customers, underwater water quality parameter sensors can be installed, such as oxygen content sensor, methane sensor, turbidity sensor, salinity sensor, etc., to record in real time the current location and water quality parameters at the current time; and a high-definition video camera can be installed at the appropriate position on the ship deck, with the shooting angle adjusted to the above sonar scanning water body, to capture the image above the water surface synchronously, then to record it on the hard disk video recorder.

By using the 5G/4G network module, the sonar data, video data, and water quality parameters are transmitted to the central control room in real time for centralized management. In the follow-up review, the sonar data, location coordinates, video data, and water quality index can be played back according to the timeline to form a comprehensive inspection data chain.
